Lasting Moments!

There are many moments in a persons life, some are fleeting and some are lasting. Nikon did a survey in USA today and according to the information they gathered 15% of people wish they could re-shoot their wedding photos. A wedding is one of the lasting moments and the best way to capture it is via photographs and video. During the session I was able to shoot the engagement shots and also capture video with the Nikon D300s. I am now able to transform them into a full multimedia production instead of plain stills.
What a photographic time to live in, we can shoot in pitch black and capture motion with the push of a button. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I did when I took them.

GT vs Siena December 2009

Shooting Georgia Tech

I recently had the opportunity to shoot at a GT basketball game. I was shooting with a D3s and a D300s. During the evening I noticed that even though I had the best equipment in the arena, I lacked the experience to get perfect shots. I left the arena with great shots, but not as good as some of the other photographers who were using older and slower cameras. Even though the camera makes up a major part of the shot the photographer is more important. I am getting better and will practice as much as possible. What a great sport to shoot and a humbling experience. I want to thank the staff at GT for all of their assistance and help.

Shooting Through the Year

I have a wonderful opportunity to shoot many different locations. Whether I am shooting in DC or New Orleans I have always found that it is important to remember the basics. Many times during my shooting events I will get caught up in the area I am shooting and forget to look for detail and notice my background. I then look at the images just before that realization and they are not as good as they could have been. The basics are what make photographs exceptional.
I have also had the wonderful opportunity to sit through seminars by some of the greats, such as Bill Fortney, Bill Lea, Joe McNally, and Bob Krist. I learn something new every time.
As my year is coming to an end I think back on the wonderful opportunities that I have had, and hope for another year of fantastic photos.
This is the beginning of my Web Logs and I hope those that read them will find them enjoyable and entertaining.
